Fresh Starts
CEO Thought for the Week
Happy Friday Everyone!
I hope you have all had a good week but I know you'll be very ready for the weekend judging by the volume of events and activities I can see happening across our schools.
Without wanting to get too political (I'm sure you've had about enough of that for now) I can't help but feel that a change of Government might bring about the opportunity for some renewed optimism. At this stage we don't know what the next few years will bring but I bet as Kier Starmer sits at his desk for the first time he'll be doing so with an ambition to grab this opportunity and fresh start and make the very most of it. Only time will tell if he succeeds in that but as he looks to the future he has to believe that he can make things better.
We are fortunate in our roles that each new school year brings about the opportunity for us and our children to make that fresh start. As a Trust we have lots to look forward to as we bring this year to a close and think ahead to the new one. We will be growing as an organisation and welcoming several new schools all of which will bring with them colleagues with different skills, experience and talents for us to share in. We will be launching our Infinity Equity fund and welcoming colleagues from schools into our new HR, Finance and Operations Central Teams. There are possibilities for us as we support new children, new families and new colleagues into our schools. We will have the opportunity to refine and improve on what we do and how we do it, both individually and as part of our school and Trust team. All of that opportunity laid before us has to be met with optimism and drive to make the very best of it. Sometimes it is all too easy when we are tired, worn out and ready for a break to think that the future is more of the same, a "rinse and repeat" of what has gone before but this couldn't be further from the truth. As Educators, its in our responsibility to be hopeful and work towards building a brighter future for the children and communities we serve.
Therefore as we look forwards, let's be bold and make a commitment to each other that next year will be even better than this one, that we will grab every opportunity and that we will make the most of the impending fresh start. Because I don't believe Kier would have taken the job if he didn't think he could make things better for the country and I don't believe we took ours if we didn't believe we could make things better for our children, our communities and each other!
Have a fantastic weekend!
Best Wishes,
Gavin
