"Custodians of Culture"
CEO Thought for the Week
Hi All,
Firstly, don’t get too excited it’s not Friday….yet! This year we’ve decided to send the CEO Thoughts out mid-week so as not to clutter your inboxes on a Friday afternoon.
I really hope you had a great summer and have had a positive start to the year. It was certainly great to see so many of you at the Trust Conference and have the chance to see and feel the scope of the collaborative opportunities available across our Infinity Family. For those of you new to the Trust I would like to say a “huge” welcome- I hope your colleagues and other Trust schools have made you feel at home and that gradually you are finding your feet. Remember it takes time to feel comfortable in a new place so don’t worry if it all seems a little out of sorts to begin with. I know that the people around you will be more than happy to support you whilst you get to grips with your new role and being part of the Trust. Building relationships takes time, effort, and patience and that’s the bedrock upon which everything we do with children and adults is built!
These weekly emails from me are an opportunity for me to share my thoughts on events or activities from the week or to place a focus on something that I feel is important for us to consider and reflect upon. I won’t be giving you any extra jobs to do…I promise! This week I wanted to remind you of a phrase that I used at the Conference last week-“Custodians of Culture”. Our Trust and school culture is created through the words we use but more so through the actions we take. Our culture is built upon lots and lots of small interactions and actions over time. We are all “Custodians of Culture” in that it is everyone’s responsibility to try and shape and create a school and a Trust that we are proud to work for. It’s not something I can parcel up and give you. If you want to work somewhere exciting, inspiring, and rewarding then it is up to each one of us to do our bit to create it. I’m hoping your Heads have shared with you our “Values In Action” document and if you’re wondering how you go about contributing to a positive Infinity culture then look no further than the “Love to See” column matched against each one of our Trust values. If all 500 of our team strive every day to deliver on those actions then I have no doubt we will have created a culture that makes Infinity and your school an amazing place to be.
Have a fab 2nd half of the week and I hope to see you soon!
Best Wishes
Gavin
