Departments of Opportunity
CEO Thought for the Week
Dear Team,
Wow. What a busy week! I hope this message finds you well and looking forward to an exciting weekend of relaxation or edge of seat final watching- whichever is your preference!
As the country reflects on Ollie Watkins' thrilling late goal for England and their upcoming appearance in the final, we are reminded of the power of seizing opportunities and working together towards a common goal. Just as the England team has shown resilience and teamwork, we too must strive to make the most of every opportunity for our pupils as we look forward to a new academic year.
With the new Labour government repositioning the Department for Education as the Department of Opportunity, we are likely to be presented with shifts in policy and focus. We can view these as frustrations, or we can see them as an opportunity and a chance to be hopeful for the future of our profession. Our job as a Trust and individuals is to seize the new opportunities just as Ollie Watkins did, run with them and hopefully “stick them in the back of the net” for the benefit of our pupils and colleagues.
Let us continue to collaborate and share our expertise with one another, ensuring that we create an environment where every pupil can reach their full potential. Together, we can make each of our schools and classrooms “Departments of Opportunity” and have a significant impact in shaping the future for our pupils and for our Trust..
Thank you for your dedication and hard work.
Come on ENGLAND!
Best Wishes
Gavin
