Financial support from the training provider
Please note that we do not offer BGU scholarships for teacher training courses for international applicants. International applicants will need to ensure that they have sufficient funds to self-fund their study in the UK.
About the training provider
Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) has been educating students in the historic heart of Lincoln for over 160 years. Our beautiful campus is located just a few minutes’ walk from Lincoln Cathedral, Castle and the old Roman city.
Over the past 160 years, our commitment to first-class teacher training has remained consistent and, as a result, we continue to provide schools across the country with highly-skilled graduates who are equipped to teach the next generation of young learners.
Life after BGU is also extremely important to us and we offer many different methods of support for our trainees as they begin their teaching careers. For example, we have a dedicated Beyond ITE (B:ITE) resource page that is aimed at supporting your transition into your ECT period. In addition, our B:ITE tutors are always available to offer impartial advice and support. As an Alumni student, you can also access our extensive Teacher Resource Centre in the library to help you keep abreast of curriculum developments.
BGU can provide school placements for our trainees in a diverse range of partnership schools located across the East Midlands and ensure our teacher training both in schools and at the University allows trainees to develop an extensive understanding of every aspect of teaching. In applying directly to a Lead Partner of BGU, they will arrange placements for you in the schools within their organisation.
