  • Embracing the Spirit of World Book Day

    Hi Everyone!

Hope you’ve had a great week so far!

Today, as you know, is World Book Day, and it’s always one of the most exciting days in the life of our schools. Classrooms, corridors and playgrounds come alive with characters, stories and imagination, reminding us just how powerful books can be.

Reading is the gateway to the whole curriculum. When children can read confidently, the world of learning opens up to them. It’s particularly encouraging to see the continued improvement in our phonics outcomes across the Trust, because every child who secures those early reading foundations gains the key to access the rest of their education.

Days like today play an important role too. They inspire children to read widely, explore new authors and discover the pleasure of getting lost in a great story. Those moments often spark a lifelong love of reading.

Thank you to all of you for embracing the spirit of the day. Whether it’s planning creative activities, sharing favourite books, or even donning a costume for the enjoyment of the children, your willingness to go the extra mile creates the kind of memorable experiences our pupils will carry with them for years.

As always, it’s a simple reminder that children are at the heart of everything we do.

Enjoy the day and the stories it brings.

    Best wishes,
    Gavin
