Three primary schools which are all part of Infinity Academies Trust, a family of schools working together across greater Lincolnshire, have been praised by the Secretary of State for Education for “the excellent outcomes” that disadvantaged pupils achieved last year.
Boston’s St Nicholas CE Primary Academy and St Thomas’ CE Primary Academy, and Haxey CE Primary Academy which is based in the village of Haxey in North Lincolnshire all received a letter from The Rt Hon Bridget Phillipson MP in recognition of their impressive results in 2024/25.
In her letter to the schools, The Rt Hon Bridget Phillipson MP, Secretary of State for Education, said: “Your school’s performance places it among the very best nationally, and this is a significant achievement.
“This success reflects the dedication of your staff and the hard work of your pupils, it shows what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together. Thank you for everything you do to give children the best possible opportunities to succeed.”
Daniel Callaghan, Headteacher at Haxey CE Primary Academy, said: “As a school community, we are delighted to receive this recognition for everything that our committed staff and wonderful children have achieved together here at Haxey.
“I would like to thank every member of the team who works so hard to bring out the best in our pupils every day.”
The Secretary of State also highlighted the important role that the schools have to play in sharing their experiences and best practice with others both locally and across the region. This included a recommendation that the schools should contribute to regional roundtables and professional networks to support other schools with their provision for disadvantaged pupils.
Gavin Booth, CEO at Infinity Academies Trust added: “At Infinity Academies Trust, we are committed to ensuring that every child is ready to learn and prepared to flourish.
“I am so proud of the work that our schools do to support pupils to fulfil their potential, in particular the extra miles they go to ensure the foundations are in place for disadvantaged pupils to excel.
“Collaboration is at the heart of our Trust family. Our schools are always learning from each other, and it is this collective effort – from leaders, teachers and support staff – that enables us to consistently deliver a high-quality education for all our pupils.”
