Every Interaction Matters

Hi All,

I hope you’ve had a good week, and we are definitely edging ever closer to the Easter break….it’s nearly in sight!

I wanted to take a moment to reflect on something that sits quietly at the heart of everything we do—but has a huge impact on our success as a Trust: how we promote our schools and how we engage with the communities we serve.

At Infinity, we are united by a genuine passion to see every child succeed. That belief drives the care, energy and expertise you bring to your roles each day. But alongside the quality of what happens in our classrooms, there is another important factor in ensuring our schools continue to thrive: the strength of our reputation within our local communities. Put simply, to offer the very best for children, our schools need to be full, vibrant and well-regarded. Families need to choose us with confidence. Communities need to trust us. External partners need to see us as credible, professional and values-led. And that’s where every single one of us plays a part.

Whether you’re a teacher, teaching assistant, office colleague, site team member or part of our central team—every interaction matters. The conversations we have on the playground, the way we respond to a parent query, how we welcome visitors, how we speak about our school and the Trust when we’re out in the community—all of these moments shape how others see us.

We don’t need grand marketing campaigns to make a difference (although those help!). Often, it’s the small, everyday things that have the biggest impact:

  • A warm, positive conversation with a parent at the gate
  • Taking time to explain what makes your school special
  • Speaking proudly about the progress children are making
  • Welcoming external agencies in a professional and collaborative way
  • Sharing the strengths of your school and the Trust with honesty and enthusiasm

Quite simply, we all have a role in “talking up” our schools and Infinity as a whole.

This isn’t about glossing over challenges—we know education is not without them. But it is about recognising the many strengths we have and being confident in sharing them. Across our Trust, there is so much to celebrate: improving outcomes, strong pastoral care, inclusive practice, dedicated staff teams and children who are Ready to Learn and Prepared to Flourish. When we speak positively and with pride, others notice. And over time, those conversations build trust, strengthen our reputation and help ensure our schools remain places families actively want to be part of.

So as we head into the coming weeks, I’d encourage us all to be mindful of those everyday moments. A kind word, a confident message, a positive interaction—they all add up.

Thank you, as always, for everything you do—not just in supporting our children, but in representing your school and our Trust so well.

Best wishes,
Gavin
