Be Present, Be Curious, Reimagine

CEO Thought for the Week

Hi Everyone

I hope you are having a good week.

Across our family of schools, many of you are seeing first-hand that the context we are working within is changing. Pupil needs are becoming more complex, family circumstances are more challenging, and the pressures on schools feel heavier than they have for some time. It’s important to say clearly: this is not unique to your school, and it is not unique to Infinity. These are national challenges across the education landscape. But what is distinctive is how we choose to respond.

As a Trust, I believe strongly that we can meet these new demands — not by pretending or hoping things are as they were, but by leaning into three commitments together:

Be Present – We need to be honest about the reality in front of us. Acknowledge the needs we are seeing, the pressures, and the lived experiences of our children and families. There is strength in naming the truth of where we are.

Be Curious – We must take time to truly understand what is happening in each school. That means asking the right questions, listening carefully to each other, pupils and families, and avoiding assumptions. Deep understanding is the foundation of effective support.

Reimagine – Some of the answers will not be found in “how we’ve always done things.” This is our opportunity to be creative, to rethink approaches, to work across schools, and to draw on the collective strength of our Trust to design provision that genuinely meets today’s needs.

The challenges are real — but so is our capacity. Every day I see the commitment, compassion, and professionalism across Infinity. By working closely together, sharing practice openly and supporting one another generously, I am confident we can continue to provide the stability, care and high expectations our children deserve.

Thank you for everything you’re doing — often quietly, often under pressure, but always with children at the heart of it.

Best Wishes

Gavin
