Positive News!

CEO Thought for the Week!

Morning Everyone!

I hope you are well on this chilly Wednesday and a settling back in to school life and all the excitement of term 3!

I wanted to share some positive news with you about an exciting opportunity currently being explored by Infinity Academies Trust.

We have been in detailed discussions about a possible merger with Abbey Academies Trust – a local trust of three schools who share many of the same values we hold dear: strong community, high aspirations for children, and a commitment to nurturing every pupil as an individual. Abbey’s three schools would add nearly 1000 pupils to our Infinity family alongside another 180 colleagues who do an amazing job across their schools. The schools: Bourne Abbey, Bourne Elsea Park and Colsterworth all perform well and have lots of good practice to contribute to our Trust family.

Yesterday, Abbey Academies launched a listening period with stakeholders linked to their Trust and so this news is now in the public domain. This opportunity reflects Infinity’s ongoing ambition to grow thoughtfully and sustainably. Opportunities like this have the potential to strengthen our collective capacity, broaden our expertise, and increase the influence we can have for the benefit of children, families, and communities across Lincolnshire and beyond.

What matters most is that any growth protects what makes Infinity special: the identity of each school, the strength of local leadership, and the culture of collaboration that defines our Trust. That principle is central to all conversations. To further protect the support and service provided to our schools, we will shortly be advertising some additional central team positions. The Central team has worked incredibly hard and has absorbed seven new schools since we first centralised our services. However, we now need to add additional capacity to be able to meet your needs, manage our growing geography and continue to improve the service to all our Infinity schools.

I’ll keep colleagues updated as things develop. For now, I wanted you to hear this directly and to recognise the confidence others have in Infinity as a partner of choice.

Thank you, as always, for the part you play in making our Trust such a strong and attractive family of schools.

Best Wishes

Gavin
