“Bright future ahead” for Scampton Pollyplatt Primary after joining Infinity Academies Trust

Pupils and staff at Scampton Pollyplatt Primary School, which will now be known as Pollyplatt Primary Academy, have been celebrating after officially joining Infinity Academies Trust.

The school is now part of a group of 17 primary schools working together across Greater Lincolnshire, with a shared commitment to providing the best possible opportunities for children to learn and flourish.

To mark this exciting new chapter, Pollyplatt Primary Academy welcomed members of the local community for a celebration event, assembly and tours of the school.  As a special reminder of the day, pupils also had the opportunity to write down their dreams and aspirations on wildflower paper which has been planted in the school grounds.

For guests at the event, it was a chance to see the investment that has gone into the school recently. This includes a brand-new outdoor learning area for the youngest pupils to enjoy, as well as a new training centre for those working in education and facilities that can be hired out by the local community.

Looking ahead, there are also plans for further development of the school facilities, including refurbishment of classrooms and new learning and play spaces for the pupils to enjoy.

Reece Lyle, Headteacher at Pollyplatt Primary Academy, said: “From investment in our facilities, to additional opportunities for our pupils – we’ve got a really bright future ahead.

“Today has been a fantastic chance to welcome members of our local community - local nurseries, parish councillors and representatives from community groups - to see all of the brilliant things that are happening here at Pollyplatt.

“Our children are fantastic, and being part of Infinity is really going to open up so many more learning opportunities for them.”

Since opening in 1951, Pollyplatt Primary has taught many generations of families from across the community, but over recent years the school had faced an uncertain future linked to the closure of the former RAF Scampton base.

Joining Infinity Academies Trust in 2026 has provided the stability and certainty that the school and the community had been hoping for.

Gavin Booth, CEO at Infinity Academies Trust, said: “We are really excited to welcome Pollyplatt Primary Academy to our Infinity family.

“Pollyplatt Primary has a long heritage, and we want to honour that and become a real hub for the local community once again.

“Today marks a new beginning for this school and it is most definitely here to stay!”
